About Rosie's Place

Women living on the edge of survival have found an oasis of hope and nourishment at Rosie’s Place since 1974.  By developing trusting relationships with each guest, Rosie’s Place creates solutions that address her individual needs.  The mission of Rosie’s Place is to help women maintain their dignity, seek opportunity and find security in their lives. Through supportive housing, one-on-one advocacy and education, Rosie’s Place helps women find the strength to reach for their dreams.

The Women's Craft Cooperative of Rosie's Place, in existence since 1996, is helping women help themselves by turning new and vintage buttons into decorative accessories, such as one-of-a-kind barrettes, magnets, key chains, bookmarks, pins and men’s cufflinks.

About BARCC (Boston Area Rape Crisis Center)

As the second oldest rape crisis center in the United States, the Boston Area Rape Crisis Center (BARCC) has been highly visible locally and nationally in the fight against violence against women. First initiated as a grassroots, activist endeavor, the organization continues to be supported by over 135 BARCC volunteers annually. Volunteers provide hotline crisis counseling, adolescent and family services, support groups, medical advocacy and legal advocacy. BARCC also provides violence prevention education workshops for schools, community groups, teen centers and businesses throughout the greater Boston area.
